Hoof Prints of Hope is a Fund raising and Awareness Initiative in support of The Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories. In September of 2010 four horse back riders traveled across the province of Alberta collecting donations and distributing literature about Alzheimer disease. Our 500 mile journey took us through over thirty different communities! In each of these communities we collected donations and raised awareness about Alzheimer's disease. It took us 5 weeks to make it accross the province, but we raised over $23,000.00 for Alzheimer's!
A lot of people have asked us if we are planning on repeating this ride, however, with jobs and our other committments, it is just not possible to make this an annual event. However, this does not mean we are throwing in the towel. No Sir! Alzheimer's is still out there and it is still affecting people we love! So we plan to go on rasing funds and awarness.
Every where we went last year last year people said they wanted to get involved and they said they wanted to help out... well here is your chance. We really need your help!
Plan a Hoof Prints of Hope event in your community! We are encouraging local horse clubs and individual riding enthusiasts to organize an equestrian event in their area to raise funds in support our cause! We will be more than happy to help you plan an event, and even come out and join you, if we are able. If you have an idea we would love to hear about it and help you make your own "Hoof Prints of Hope" event a huge success. If you are not able to put on your own event, please support other Hoof Prints of Hope events.
